Be sure and check out this article written about the Colorado Collective group where I have been active with them since it first was developed in 2006. These were my colleagues from StorageTek and worked very closely with these individuals for five years.

A few words about responsiveness and how it may affect your web presense

Posted By Sweet02Buz on October 24th, 2008

Of course, as with any business it is important to follow all the way to completion to the final product. However, when hiring a Web Designer it’s the after-math of upkeep and maintenance that is also important, which at time is often ignored. This allows for the client to be more relaxed to know that it is out of their hands and can rely on their web developer to make any necessary updates, especially if it is urgent in weeks to months after initial web design is completed.

Some examples may include:
1. A recent move and address change
2. web content change on weekly tips or monthly specials
3. image/graphic switch out
4. A daily/weekly news update
5. Service change

Often times, I have people hiring me to make updates to their web sites because their Web Developer remains to be seen and suddenly disappears by not returning their calls or email. It is very frustrating and often does not look good to their consumers of having outdated information.

Create to Complete makes sure that information like phone number, address, and spelling is initially approved before uploading site as well. Here is one recommendation I received from Bella Fiori.

Celebrating Victory!

Create to Complete has effectively increased traffic and is now fully exposed on Google and Yahoo. In the last month, we have reached 100 hits.

More importantly with the keyword search “catalog design denver”;
#1 on Yahoo
#2/3 on Google

After conducting research and with the help of Jennifer Croft from Integral Websites. I call her “The SEO Queen”, and she is at most that! She gave helpful hints in ways for our company to come up in keyword searches on search engines more effectively. She tells me I just saved hundreds hours of research.

More than Meets the Eye!

Designed the front end of the design for e-Commerce website for Casino Equipment Exchange. I was rewarded the design of project which was layed out in Illustrator and image optimized for web development.

One of the biggest challenges faced was taking the idea of the client wanting to use bold colors, especially the use of yellow as the primary color to bring a lot of attention. Sometimes, yellow, especially BRIGHT yellow is not always pleasing to the eye. So, the placement of color was important in keeping the viewer engaged and want to stay on site longer than the average of a few seconds. The design is for an e-Commerce website so the combination of colors is to bring attention which was pleasing while at the same time had a casino look-and-feel.

RIP TIP

Posted By Sweet02Buz on February 19th, 2008

The best way to RIP a file out of InDesign, and print an envelope or awkward in size document — IT IS A MUST to select “custom” to assure that image is placed correctly on plate along gripper edge. Also, by selecting “custom”, the document size will be shown in preview. If crop marks are selected and “custom” is not pulled from menu the press operator will be upset (pissed) as he/she will not be able to align correctly to grippers edge and the registration of a 2+ color job will be off.

RIP away!

Flash CS3

Learned about “motion tweening”, which is taking a movie clip and animating it.

Next, we learned about “shape tweening”, taking an object that must be broken apart in order to morph from one graphic into the next graphic at the end of the timeframe.

Continuing Education

Posted By Sweet02Buz on February 6th, 2008

Beginning a Adobe Flash CS3 class next Wednesday at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. The duration is 10 weeks. I prefer to have the class spread out versus all crammed in two a one or two day course, as it sticks rather than forgetting it the next day. I am now all up to date or speed with computer software on my home computer. A huge relief!
